Trader Shahin murder: PBI ordered to give probe report by Apr 10

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka again asked the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) yesterday to submit by April 10 the probe report of the case filed against former lawmaker MA Awal and 14 others in connection with the murder of trader Md Shahinuddin in 2021.
The PBI has so far taken 10 dates to complete the probe into the case.
The trader was killed in front of his seven-year-old son in broad daylight in Dhaka’s Pallabi area on May 16, 2021.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tariqul Islam passed the order after Md Monir Hossain, an Inspector of PBI and also the Investigation Officer of the case, could not submit the report by Thursday.
On May 12 last year, another Dhaka court ordered PBI to conduct further investigation after Aklima Begum, mother of the victim, filed a no-confidence petition, rejecting the probe report of the case.
