Hanuman beaten to death in Galachipa upazila

In Galachipa upazila of Patuakhali district, allegations have been made against some persons for beating a mukhpora Hanuman( a species of monkey with burnt face ) to death and burying that under the ground on Friday night.
The animal lovers organization of Patuakhali on Saturday February 25, 2023 has expressed anger over the incident.
The incident took place on Friday (February 24) evening in North Amkhola village under Galachipa Upazila of Patuakhali district.
Patuakhali Sadar Upazila Range Forest Officer Nayan Mistry said that after getting information about movement of Hanuman in the area, forest department personnel were sent to the area on Friday morning to aware citizens not to harm that animal. After forest department people left the area in the afternoon, some locals beat the Hanuman to death at evening and buried that in the ground at night.
