Alcaraz beats Norrie to win Argentina Open

Spanish top seed Carlos Alcaraz clinched his seventh ATP title on Sunday with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over British second seed Cameron Norrie in the Argentina Open final. World No. 2 Alcaraz won 76% of his first service points and converted four of six break points to take the match in one hour and 33 minutes on the outdoor clay of the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club. “I felt very comfortable playing the final,” said Alcaraz, who before the tournament had not played since early November because of an abdominal tear. “I knew that it was going to be really difficult. I started really focused on what I had to do at the beginning, my game, my level. This is the level that I have to play in finals.”
The 19-year-old dropped just one set in the ATP 250 tournament as he moved within 590 points of top-ranked Novak Djokovic.
