DU Chhatra League provides 10 instructions to leaders, activists

City Desk :

The Dhaka University (DU) Chhatra League has issued 10-point instructions to the leaders and activists to build a “smart campus”, including not to do motorbike showdowns or engage in any activities outside the organisational guidelines.
This instruction was given in a circular signed by DU branch Chhatra League President Mazharul Kabir Sayan and General Secretary Tanbir Hasan Saikat on Sunday, reports the media. The involvement of the university students has been identified in two extortion incidents within a week in Dhaka University area this month. The university authorities have already expelled five students in these two incidents.
Recently on Thursday night, two students of DU were arrested on charges of extortion under police identity. It was revealed that both of them were involved in BCL politics.
However, the university wing of Chhatra League had issued eight-point instructions earlier for the purpose of building “smart campus”. In this 10-point directive, some of the previous directives have been repeated.
The organizational instructions mentioned in the circular are:
Refrain from engaging in any individual or group activities outside of organizational programs and guidelines.
Necessary steps should be taken to ensure 100% learning environment in university campuses and residential halls. Do not engage in any activities that may damage the environment.
Dhaka University campus is well-known as one of the centres of educational development and research, socio-cultural activities and art practice in the country. BCL activists should play a role as volunteers to successfully complete every such initiative. To keep the natural environment of the university clean and pleasant, all kinds of personal banners and festoons should be avoided.
No motorbike showdowns, loud honking, or excessive use of sound system. The residential halls should play a role in improving the learning environment, ensuring orderly accommodation and healthy food.
