Bangladesh attains success in human resource development

Bangladesh has attained significant success in human resource development during the last couple of years despite the global recession caused by Covid-19 and Russia-Ukraine war.
The successes have been attained through the dynamic, prudent and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Academics and researchers came up with the observation while addressing a seminar titled “Human Resource Development in Bangladesh: Present Aspects” organized by the Social Science Faculty of Rajshahi University (RU) at its Senate Building on Tuesday.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar addressed the seminar as chief guest, while Bangabandhu Chair Prof Sanat Kumar Saha spoke as guest of honour with Social Science Faculty Dean Prof Ilias Hossain in the chair, reports BSS.
Retired Professor Selim Jahan from the Department of Economics at Dhaka University spoke on the occasion as focal person.
Prof Mijan Uddin, Prof Sultana Mustafa Khanom, Prof Abdul Wadud, Prof Farid Uddin Khan and Prof Dulal Chandra Biswash took part in the open discussion.
Chairman of Sociology Department Prof Bojoy Krishna Banik welcomed the participants, while Dr Habibur Rahman from the department of folklore moderated the discussion. Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar told the seminar that the present Bangladesh is going ahead in the indicator of human resource development despite the global recession.
Various time-fitting and welfare-oriented policies and steps, including education, health and social safety net, adopted by the government are contributing a lot towards attaining the success.
In his remarks, Professor Selim Jahan said education, particularly women education, employment for women and health facilities were enhanced due to the government steps.
As a whole, the achievements were attained due to the stable government and persistent democracy, he added.
