Four arrested for attempt to murder

Four including wife and her lovers arrested and sent to jail on Wednesday for attempt to kill husband in Gournadi upazila of Barishal district.
Incidentally, the husband was rescued alive and admitted to the hospital.
Barisal Superintendent of Police Wahidul Islam confirmed the matter in a press conference at the District Police Superintendent’s office on Wednesday (February 1).
Within seven days of the incident, the main plotter of the attempt to murder, wife Rabeya Akhter Muskan, her two lovers Raihan Khandkar and Abu Said Siam and Siam’s friend Jihad Hasan Rajon were arrested by the police.
Among them Raihan and Siam were natives from Gourandi upazila of Barishal and another arrested Rajan was from Jamalpur. Another arrestee Siam was lived with Rajan in Dattapara area of Tongi under Gazipur with help of concerned police stations.
District police superintendent said on January 25 evening, a young man named Saurav Bepari was hacked and seriously injured by unknown miscreants on the road in Kalna area under Gourandi Police Station.
Sourav was later rescued and sent to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital and from there to Dhaka for better treatment.
Superintendent of Police said that at the beginning of the investigation, as various information and suspicious behavior of wife Rabeya Akhter alias Muskan, the only eyewitness of the incident, was taken into police custody for questioning.
