Govt, UNICEF review FLAT survey to boost foundational learning

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, in collaboration with UNICEF Bangladesh and development partners, on Sunday held a national consultation workshop to review and finalise Bangladesh’s Foundational Learning Action Tracker (FLAT)-RAPID Survey 2026.

The workshop reaffirmed a shared commitment to ensuring that every child develops the skills needed to learn, thrive and succeed.

Senior officials from the ministry, Directorate of Primary Education, National Academy for Primary Education, National Curriculum and Textbook Board, Bureau of Non-Formal Education, development partners and UNICEF attended the workshop. Participants reviewed progress, validated evidence and identified priorities for strengthening children’s learning across the country, said a press release.

Bangladesh has made significant progress in expanding access to education, but ensuring that every child actually learns remains the next major challenge, the release said.

Strong reading, mathematics and socio-emotional skills developed during the early years provide the foundation for future learning, better opportunities and the country’s continued development.
