Best use of libraries to build enlightened society stressed

The National Library Day was observed in Netrakona on Sunday with a call to encouraging and inspiring people to properly utilize library for learning, reading and researches for building a knowledge-based society.
To mark the day, Netrakona government public library and Netrakona district administration jointly organized a discussion meeting at the library.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (education and ICT) Onimash Sum addressed the meeting as chief guest while librarian of district public library Delwar Hussain was in the chair.
 The meeting was addressed, among others, by Additional Police Super Netrakona Fakhruzzaman Juwel, District Education Officer Abdul Gofur and prominent writer prof Motindra Sarker.
The speakers underlined the need for drawing the attention of the people especially the new generation to use the library for learning, reading and researches for expanding their knowledge and raising human qualities.
Sr. Staff Reporter, Kishoreganj reports : The National Library Day was observed on Sunday across in the country with. a view to encouraging and inspiring people to use library for building a Knowledgeable based society.
 This year theme ‘Smart Library, Smart Bangladesh’.
 In Kishoreganj, Department of Public Libraries under cultural affairs ministry observed the day by arranging different programmes with a view to inform and aware people about the day.
A discussion meeting held at local Government library reading hall on Sunday morning.
ADC (General) & Deputy Secretary (DS) Md. Golam Mostafa attended as chief guest while District Government Librarian Azizul Haque presided over.
Ir was addressed among others by Islamic Foundation Deputy Director (DD) in Kishoreganj Md.Mohashin,. as special guest, CAB district president and Senior Journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, Veteran freedom fighter and ex.UP Chairman Abu Siddique, Former Zila Parishad member Nensy Akhter Assistant Professor Samiul Haque Mollah., Sarowar Jahan and Journalist Amin Sadi.
ADC (DS) Golam Mostafa said, Book is the real friend of the people as its helps expand knowledge and rise human qualities.
 Senior Journalist Alam Sarowar Tito said that, the government has taken steps to build libraries with all mordern ICT facilities.
Later, the prize distribution among students, teachers marking the National Library Day.
BSS from Rangpur adds: Officials, academics and sociocultural activists at a discussion have stressed on making the best use of libraries for acquiring knowledge to build an enlightened society. They expressed the view at the discussion jointly organised by the district administration and Divisional Public Library at its seminar room here in observance of the National Library Day on Sunday afternoon.
The day was observed aiming at highlighting the importance of libraries, books and building reading habits in the daily life of common people, especially youths, students and young generations, to enrich their knowledge and moral values.
 DC Dr. Chitralekha Nazneen inaugurated the observance by releasing a balloon and attended the discussion and prize distribution ceremony followed by a colorful cultural function as the chief guest.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md. Firuzul Islam presided over the discussion participated by teachers and students of different schools and colleges of the city.
