Bangladesh face Bhutan today

Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team will face lowly Bhutan Under-20 Women’s Football team in their third match of the SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur today. The match will kick-off at 7.00pm. In the day’s other match, India Under-20 Women’s Football team will meet Nepal Under-20 Women’s Football team at the same venue. The match will start at 3.00pm.
Bangladesh and India jointly led the points table grabbing four points each from their respective two matches.
Nepal kept their hope alive to play in the final bagging three points from two matches.
Bhutan were eliminated from the title race earning naught from two matches.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start in the SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship defeating Nepal by 3-1 goals in their first match at the same venue on February 3. Bangladesh played a goalless draw with India in their second match at the same venue on February 5.
Earlier, India made a good start crushing Bhutan by 12 goals to nil in their first match at the same venue on February 3.
Nepal thrashed Bhutan by four goals to nil at the same venue on February 5.
If Bangladesh draw with Bhutan, Bangladesh will reach the final.
Earlier, Bangladesh Women got wins over Bhutan in all age basis tournaments.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Women’s Football team Golam Rabbani Choton said, ” All my opponents are strong sides to me. We want to beat Bhutan. I hope my girls will play with rhythm in ninety-minute match against Bhutan. I expect that my offence will display with a fine tune. They will present their best against Bhutan.”
Head Coach of Bhutan Under-20 Women’s Football team Karma Dema said, ” Our tournament mission came to an end. Bangladesh are stronger opponents. We shall try to show a better brand of football against them.”
