Auspicious start for BD in SAFF U-20 Women’s Champ

Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team made an auspicious start in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-20 Women’s Championship defeating Nepal Under-20 Women’s Football team by 3-1 goals in their first match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur on Friday.
Bangladesh presented a better brand of football and achieved the victory as they deserved it.
Bangladesh led the first half 2-1.
Akilma of Bangladesh put her team ahead by a right-footer using a through pass of her teammate Ripa in the 3rd minute of the play.
Shamsunnahar Junior made it 2-0 after getting a pass at the D-box of Nepal from her teammate in the 13th minute of the match.
Manmaya of Nepal reduced the margin by a spectacular shot in the 24th minute of the clash.
After the lemon-break, Shaheda of Bangladesh sealed the fate of the match by a forceful shot outside the D-box of Nepal just at the dying moment.
Bangladesh will take on India tomorrow at the same venue. The match will kick-off at 7.00pm.
