Illegal constructions evicted from forest land in Gazipur

One acre of forest land has been recovered by the Forest Department in Gazipur Kaliakore. The current market value of the reclaimed forest land is around Tk 3 cr. The operation was conducted on Wednesday
 in Vannara forest area of Mouchak Bit of Kaliakair Range of Dhaka Forest Division. Under the leadership of Executive Magistrate Anindya Guha (Assistant Commissioner, Lands), the officers and employees of the Forest Department and the police of Kaliakair Police Station were present in the operation.
 Kaliakair Range Officer Md. Ashraful Alam said, one acre of forest land next to paved road in Vannana Forest Area was occupied by different people for more than three decades.
 In the past days, notices were given to the encroaches to vacate their possession voluntarily, but no one heeded it.
