Body of an unidentified woman recovered

Body of an identified woman (55) was recovered from the bank of Mongla-Ghasiakali Bangabandhu international channel (originally Mongla river) in the village Romjaipur within Perikhali Union under Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat district by the police of Rampal PS on Tuesday. After preparing the spot investigation report police sent the dead body to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy. In this connection a UD case was lodged with Rampal PS. Mohammad Shamsuddin, Officer-in-charge of Rampal PS admitted the fact and told, being informed of the matter a police squad led by me rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body of a middle aged undignified woman from the bank of Bangabandhu international channel. The body was worn with a petticoat and a sweater. Flower wreaths were found on her neck. So, it is guessed that the dead body, perhaps, belonged to Hindu community. The officer added, no injury was found on the dead body. Police are trying their best to identify the dead body and the reasons behind her death. ##

 Drug trader arrested along with Yaba

A drug trader named Hamim Molla (24) was arrested along with Yaba pills by a police contingent of Fakirhat Model PS from Pagla-Shyamnagar area under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district at Monday night, according to a report received here. Muhammad Alimuzzaman, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat PS disclosed, acting on secret information a police contingent of the PS led by SI Khalid Ashik and ASI Abdullah-al-Mamun conducted a raid in Pagla-Shyamnagar area at the night, arrested drug trader Hamim Molla and recovered 14 Yaba pills after searching his body. The arrestee is the son of one Moniruzzaman Molla of Pagla-Shyamnagar area. In this connection a case was registered with the PS against him under Narcotic Act.

Minor girl killed in Sharankhola road mishap

A 6- year old girl named Israt Jahan Iva, daughter of one Abu Hanif of village Nalbunia under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat and a student of Class-I of a local Madrasa was killed on Signboad-Bogi Highway on Thursday , according to a delayed report received here.
Md. Ikram Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Sharankhola PS admitted the fact and told, while the girl was returning home from her Madrasa the speeding killer easy bike ran over her on Signboard-Bogi Highway at Nnalbunia and managed to escape leaving the vehicle. But the locals recovered the girl and sent her to Shaankhola Upazila Health Complex where the physician on duty declared her dead. The Officer added, the killer easy bike was seized by the police and they are trying their best to arrest the driver.
