Mysterious deaths on rise across country

Murders, mysterious and unnatural deaths are increasing alarmingly across the country.
Besides, hundreds of bodies remain unidentified every year after police recovered them from different rivers across the country, according to a database of the river police headquarters.
Experts including civil and social bodies express worries as these incidents are increasing daily in the country.
They claimed that this type of incident is rising regularly due to absence of justice as well as corruption in the law enforcement.
At least 15 people have been killed in last 24 hours in the country due to murders, mysterious and unnatural incidents.
On Thursday, two women including a 100-year-old lady and her daughter-in-law were found dead at home in Kedarpur under Barishal’s Babuganj upazila early in the morning.
The deceased have been identified as Lalmun Nesa, 98, and Ripa Akter, 24, of the village.
Quoting local people, Mahbubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Babuganj Police Station, said getting no response from the house of Delwar, neighbours entered the house around 11 pm last night and found three family members unconscious, on the bed.
Later, Lalmun, Ripa and Minara, another daughter-in-law of Lalmun, were rushed to a local hospital where the doctors declared the two women dead.
OC said they found a hole in the wall of the house through which someone could have entered, but other than that they did not find anything inside the house that would arouse suspicion.
Babuganj Upazila Health Complex’s doctor Sadeka Islam said Ripa Akter and Lalman Nessa had died before they were brought to the hospital, while Minara is being treated for poisoning, but her condition is critical.
“Police, however, are investigating the incident,” the OC added.
In Dhaka, the body of an unidentified person (35) was found in city’s Jatrabari area on Thursday morning. The deceased’s name, address and details could not be found from the fingerprints.
The Sub- Inspector (SI) Khandkar Mezbab Uddin of Jatrabari police station confirmed this information on Thursday (January 26) afternoon.
In Lalmonirhat: The hanging body of a teenager named Rakibul Islam (17) was recovered from Hatibandha upazila of the district. On Thursday (January 26) morning,
locals found his body hanging from a tree near the house in Dakshin Jaworani Kacharidanga village of Velaguri union of the upazila.
In Gaibandha: The police recovered the hanging body of a college student named Lokman Mia (18) in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha. The body was recovered from Bara Chhatragacha village of Thaperhat union of the upazila on Thursday (January 26) afternoon.
In Dinajpur, at least two people have died in a clash stemming from a land dispute between two groups in Dinajpur’s Ghoraghat Upazila on Wednesday.
Four others were injured in the incident that took place at the Khodatpur Charmatha intersection on Wednesday, according to Abu Hasan Kabir, chief of Ghoraghat Police Station.
The deceased have been identified as Monwar Hossain Meem, 24 and Rakib, 25, both natives of Ghoraghat.
One killed in the incident of gunfire took place between the two rival sides of the hill region in Gangrichhara area of Kaptai Upazila of Rangamati.
In Rangpur: a man named Naushad Ali (55) was beaten to death by a youth for not accepting his daughter’s love. The police arrested the accused young man named Abdul Karim in this incident.
In Moulvibazar, a youth named Billal Hossain (26) was killed over a business dispute in Adampur area of Kamalganj upazila of the district.
