4 held in connection with attacks on Chinese citizens

Police have arrested four more dacoits in the incident of beating and hacking Chinese citizens in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj.
The arrestees have been identified as Ali Akkas (37), Rehajuddin (39), Robin (38) and Imran (42). They will be sent to court this afternoon.
Inspector (Investigation) of Sonargaon Police Station Mohammad Ahsan Ullah confirmed the matter the media on Wednesday afternoon.
According to sources, about 12 people, including four Chinese nationals, have been working in NAPC-3 power company yard in Pirojpur area of Sonargaon upazila. On the evening of January 20, a group of 10-12 robbers entered the yard and held everyone hostage at gunpoint, including Chinese citizens.
The robbers beat and injured Chinese nationals supervisor Wugong, Liu Zhiqing, Song Qizung, interpreter Ghulam Azam and driver Tariqul.
At the time, cash Tk, US dollars and mobile phones worth Tk 11 lakh were taken away from them.
After the incident, Mozammel Hossain, the yard owner of NAPC-3 Power Company, filed a case with Sonargaon police station as the plaintiff in this incident on January 21 morning.
Earlier, on January 22, a young man named Faroq (37) was also arrested and sent to prison through the Narayanganj court for his involvement in robbery.
