88 deaths in winter due to cold, 3 in 24 hours

About 88 people died in cold related sicknesses including pneumonia, fever, respiratory complications and dirrhoea since the winter began across the country, sources said.
However, three people died in the last 24 hours for the same reasons.
Data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed this in its report on the winter from November 14 to January 18.
It showed that, 58,478 people were infected from acute respiratory infections (ARI) during the winter’s cold wave that swept over the country.
Among those, 85 patients died. It also showed that 347,190 people were infected from winter diarrhoea three of whom also died.
Experts asked all to keep the elderly people and children in special care in the winter specially when the cold wave sweeps across the country.
