One to die, 6 life term for farmer murder in Kishoreganj

A Court in Kishoreganj on Tuesday has sentence a man to die and six others for life term imprisonment for killing a farmer in Bajitpur upazila of Kishoreganj.
The Additional District and Sessions Judge , the Court -1, Md. Jannatul Ferdous Ibn Haque announced the verdict. Apart from this, each person sentenced for life has been sentenced to a fine of 50,000 taka and two months’ imprisonment in default.
Md. Quddus Mia (54) has been sentenced to death in this case. His two elder brothers, Abul Kalam (60) and Dhanu Mia (55) were sentenced to life imprisonment.
Apart from this, the court gave the same sentence to Dhanu Mia’s son Phukon Mia (30). They are residents of West Qutubpur area of Bajitpur Upazila. The remaining three persons sentenced to life imprisonment are Mukul Mia (53), his son Nikul Mia (33) and Ask Mia’s son Sonafar (52) of the same area. Phukon Mia was absconding at the time of the verdict.
According to the Case Diary (CD), the accused beat the farmer Amirul Haque and killed him with native weapons inside his house in Paschim Qutubpur of Bajitpur Upazila of the district on the night of October 10, 2015 due to enmity related to land.
The day after this incident, on October 11, 2015, Sharif Mia, the eldest son of the deceased, filed a case at Bajitpur police station, accusing seven people as the plaintiff.
The Public Prosecutor (PP) in Kishoreganj Advocate . Abu Saeed Imam confirmed the truth of the incident.
