Khluna Tigers post first victory in BPL Cricket thrashing Rangpur Riders

Khulna Tigers posted their first victory in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket thrashing Rangpur Riders by nine wickets in their fourth match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday.
Khulna Tigers earned two points from four matches, while Rangpur Riders collected four points from as many matches.
Chasing Rangpur Riders’ modest total of 129 off 20 overs, Khulna Tigers sailed home scoring 130 for the loss of one wicket when they had 10 balls to spare.
Khulna had a superb start with two openers Tamim Iqbal and Munim Shahriar contributed together 41 runs for the opening stand before Munim Shahriar was caught by Shoaib Malik off Azmatullah Omarzai.
After Munim’s dismissal, Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudul Hasan Joy guided their team to reach the winning target adding together 89 runs for the unbroken second wicket partnership.
Tamim remained unbeaten with 60 runs. His 47-ball terrific innings was ornamented with four fours and two sixes. It was Tamim’s 45th T20 half-century.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy remained unbeaten with 38 runs. His 42-ball knock had two fours and a sixer.
Munim hit a run-a-ball 21 including three fours.
Earlier, Wahab Riaz, Amad Butt and Nahidul Islam played the key role in demolishing Rangpur’s innings. Wahab Riaz captured four wickets in the space of 14 runs. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling display.
Amad Butt grabbed three wickets at the cost of 16 runs.
Nahidul Islam bagged two wickets instead of 23 runs.
Rangpur Riders lost their early two wickets for 22 runs.
Opener Parvez Hossain and second-down Mahedi Hasan built the only notable partnership for Rangpur putting together 29 runs in the third wicket stand before Parvez Hossain was caught by Amad Butt off Wahab Riaz when Rangpur’s total was 51 for the loss of three wickets.
Mahedi Hasan was his team’s most successful batter. He hit a polished 38. His 34-ball innings had two fours and two sixes.
Parvez Hossain hit a fine 25. His 24-ball knock was laced with three fours and a sixer.
