Sylhet Strikers keep winning streak in BPL Cricket beating Dhaka Dominators

Sylhet Strikers kept their winning streak in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket beating Dhaka Dominators by five wickets in their fifth match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, the port city of the country on Monday.
Sylhet Strikers bagged maximum 10 points from five matches, while Dhaka Dominators earned two points from four matches.
Chasing Dhaka’s fighting total of 128 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs, Sylhet sailed home making 134 for the loss of five wickets when they had just four balls to spare.
Sylhet made an auspicious start as openers Mohammad Haris and Najumul Hossain Shanto put on together 52 runs in the opening stand before Shanto (12) was bowled out by Nasir Hossain.
Haris notched up a marvelous 44. His 32-ball knock had five fours and two sixes.
Later, Mushfiqur Rahim and Imad Wasim built a notable partnership. They contributed together 32 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Imad Wasim (11) was run out by a direct throw of Ariful Haque when Sylhet’s score was 93 for the loss of four wickets.
Mushfiqur made 27 from 25 balls. He struck one six and one four before he was bowled out by Taskin Ahmed when Sylhet’s total was 105 for the loss of five wickets.
After Mushfiqur’s departure, Thisara Perera and Akbar Ali powered their team to chase the Dhaka’s total adding together 29 runs for the unbroken sixth wicket partnership.
Thisara Perera remained unbeaten with 21 runs. He hit two fours and a sixer in his 11-ball knock.
Akbar Ali remained unbeaten with 10 runs.
Earlier, Sylhet bowlers bowled superbly well. Specially Imad Wasim, who grabbed three wickets in the space of 20 runs. Imad was adjudged the Man of the Match. Rubel Hossain, Nazmul Islam and Mohammad Amir took one wicket each for 25, 27 and 33 runs respectively.
Later, Nasir Hossain bagged two wickets at the cost of 19 runs, while Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny took one wicket each for 12 and 19 runs respectively.
Dhaka’s most notable partnership was made by fourth-down Nasir Hossain and fifth-down Ariful Haque. They scored together 50 runs in the sixth wicket stand before Ariful Haque was caught by Najmul Hossain Shanto off Mohammad Amir when Dhaka’s total was 124 for the loss of six wickets.
