Sugandha River erosion prevention demanded

Residents of Magor Union of Jhalokathi district formed a human chain to prevent the erosion of Sugandha River at Magor union.
They also demanded rehabilitation of the people affected by the erosion.
The human chain was formed in front of Ashwini Kumar Hall in Barishal city center on Friday .
Barishal district BSD member secretary Dr.Manisha Chakraborty expressing solidarity with them joined in the programme.
Dr. Manisha Chakraborty said, we believe the government will take measures to protect river erosion along with visible development. Illegal extraction of sand in Sugandha River has increased river erosion.
The other participants of the programme requested the Prime Minister’s intervention to protect the Magor Union by stopping the illegal extraction of sand.
