Chanchal Chowdhury unrecognisable in Mrinal Sen’s look in new movie

Bangladeshi popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury looks unrecognisable
in his upcoming movie on the life of Indian film director and screenwriter Mrinal Sen. Chanchal plays the role of Mrinal in the movie titled ‘Padatik’ and looking at their photos side by side, it
is hard to recognise they are different people. Chanchal’s look in the movie was revealed on Friday. Three photos showed how Mrinal Sen and Chanchal Chowdhury looked alike at different ages. Two of the photos were of youth and middle age, the other of old age.
Audiences are thrilled at seeing the similarities. It is believed that maybe the director of the film Srijit Mukherji
chose a Bangladeshi actor to play the role instead of someone from India
for this reason.
Monami Ghosh will play the role of Mrinal Sen’s wife, Geeta Sen in the movie. Her look has also come
on the internet.
‘Padatik’ is a biopic about the late
legendary director Mrinal Sen and
the title of the film pays tribute to one of his iconic works in 1973.
Legendary director Mrinal Sen was one of the pioneers of the New Cinema Movement. The great director and his contemporaries Satyajit Ray and Ritwik Ghatak together brought a huge
paradigm shift in Indian film industry.
