A daring dacoity was committed in the house of Awami League leader and UP member Golam Sukrana alias Azad Bali and his younger brother Alam Bali of village Hazrakhali within Kachua Sadar Union under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district in the early hours (at 2 am) of Tuesday and the dacoits looted cash Tk.4 lakh and 22 Vories gold ornaments, according to a report received here. K M Ariful Haq, Police Super of Bagerhat visited the place of occurrence in the following Morning. But nobody involved in the dcoity was arrested till the writing of this report.
It is learnt from the police and the members of the victim families that at the night of Monday at about 2-05 am a gang of armed and masked dacoits, 7/8 in number, raided the house of Alam Bali and entered into it after breaking open the window-grilles of the building. Then they tied the hands and legs of Alam Bali, his wife, son and daughter with Ornas (modesty scarf) and Gamsas (napkins) in the face of arms and looted cash and gold ornaments. Later, the dacoits entered the house of elder brother Azad Bali, who is an Awami League leader and UP member very tactfully, tied the hands and legs of all the inmates of the house in the face of arms and looted cash Taka and gold ornaments. Just after the departure of the dacoits Azad Bali informed the police of Kachua PS of the matter. Police rushed to the spot and visited the place of occurrence.
 Md. Monirul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Kachua PS admitted the fact and told, police are trying their best to arrest the culprits involved in the dacoity.
