JU to celebrate 52nd founding anniversary today

Jahangirnagar University (JU) is celebrating its 52nd anniversary today (Thursday) with enthusiasm and festivities.
The university authorities are arranging a day-long program on the occasion of JU day.
On the day, the national and university flags will be hoisted at 10:00 am in front of the Business Studies faculty.
Following this, a colourful procession will be brought out with the participation of present and former students, teachers, and staff of the university.
On the day several programs including blood grouping, friendly football matches between present and former students, cultural functions, and a cake festival are held.
Jahangirnagar University was founded near Savar, on the outskirts of the capital on August 20, 1970. It formally began its academic activities as a residential university on January 12, 1971, with four departments, 21 teachers, 150 students, and three residential halls.
