BD storm into semi of Men’s Youth AHF Cup

Bangladesh Youth Hockey team stormed into the semi-final of the Men’s Youth Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup Competition crushing Uzbekistan Youth Hockey team by 6-1 goals in their Pool-B match at Muscat in Oman on Monday. Bangladesh emerged the Pool-B champions collecting maximum nine points from three matches.
Amirul Islam of Bangladesh scored a hat-trick and his teammate Joy scored two goals and their compatriot Hasan netted one goal.
Bangladesh thrashed Sri Lanka by 14 goals to nil in their second Pool-B match at the same venue on Saturday last. Amirul Islam hit a double hat-trick in that match.
Bangladesh had an auspicious start defeating Hong Kong China by four goals to nil in their inaugural Pool-B match at the same venue on Friday last.
Bangladesh will face the runners-up of the Pool-A tomorrow in the semi-final.
The final will be held on February 12.
It may be mentioned that the Red-and-Green outfit emerged the champions in the edition of this tournament in 2014.
