12 candidates file nomination papers in C’nawabganj

A total of 12 candidates filed nomination papers in two constituencies of Chapainawabganj district to contest the upcoming parliamentary bi-elections.
Of them, six in Chapainawabganj-2 (Nachole, Gomostapur, Bholahat) and six in Chapainawabganj-3 (sadar) filed nomination papers.
In Chapainawabganj-2, Md. Ziaur Rahman of AL, Mohammad Ali Sarkar (Independent), Md. Khurshid Alam Bachchu (Independent), Md. Nabiul Islam (Bangladesh Nationalist Front), Mohammad Abdur Razzaq (Jatyo Party) and Md. Golam Mostofa (Zaker Party) filed nomination papers.
In Chapainawabganj-3 (sadar), Md. Abdul Wadud of AL, Tahrima (Independent), Md. Samiul Hoque Liton (Independent), Md. Mostafizur Rahman Mukul of JP (a) , Md. Moniruzzaman Monir of Jatya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) and Md. Quamruzzaman Khan of Bangladesh Nationalist Front (BNF) filed nomination papers.
These two seats became vacant as BNP MPs Md. Harunur Rashid and Md. Aminul Islam resigned from their posts.
According to thes chedule, the nomination papers would be scrutinised on January 8, withdrawal on January 15 and the elections would be held on February 1.
