Abahani make winning start

Dhaka Abahani Limited made a winning start in the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup Football defeating Bangladesh Police Football Club by a solitary goal in the lone group C opening match was held on Tuesday at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Fight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
In the day’s match, Abahani got full three points from the match when Bangladesh Police FC’s Monjurur scored a suicidal goal into 40th minute.
After the resumption, Bangladesh Police FC however tried their best to stage a fight back in the match but could not score any in the remaining proceeding.
Both Bangladesh Police and Abahani Limited will play their next group matches against Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra.
Earlier, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Chittagong Abahani Limited and Bashundhara Kings won their respective group opening matches of the competition.
