BNP leader Rizvi shown arrested in 3 more cases

Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed was shown arrested yesterday in three more separate cases filed with Paltan and Badda Police Stations in the capital.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain of Dhaka passed the order after submission of petitions on behalf of Rizvi.
Rizvi, who is now in the jail custody, was arrested on December 7 from the BNP’s Nayapaltan office in connection with the case filed with Paltan Model Police Station over the clashes with policemen.
He was shown arrested in cases filed in 2012, 2013 and 2015 with Paltan Police Station and Badda Police Station.
Earlier in the day, Rizvi, who is now in the jail was
produced in the court amid tight security.
In the applications, Rizvi’s lawyer Syed Zaynal Abedin Mesbah said their client was granted bail in the cases on different dates. But the court issued arrest warrants against him as he allegedly remained absent during trial on different dates.
