Arms snatched from Ansar members in Narsingdi

Miscreants tied two members of Ansar on duty at Narsingdi market with a rope and looted two shotguns and10 bullets. The incident took place in front of the Ansar camp of Bazar Banik Samiti near the Haridowa river in the city on Monday morning.
The two victim Ansar members have been identified as Md. Anarul Haque and Md. Zafar Iqbal. According to their statement, a gang of 15-18 miscreants took part in this incident. It has been known that 11 members of the Ansar camp of the Bazar Banik Samiti performed duties in turn. Four members of the camp guard the market area for eight hours every night from 10 pm to 6 am.
District Ansar camp officials said that four Ansar members named Anarul, Zafar, Rashed and Atiq were on patrol duty in the market area that night.
Around 1:30 am 15-18 miscreants surrounded them. Two Ansar members named Rashed and Atiq escaped and informed it to the higher authorities. The miscreants tied Anarul and Zafar with the rope. At that time, the miscreants looted two firearms and 10 bullets from the Ansar members. Later, the miscreants left them tied with a rope and walked by the river bank.
Members from the district Ansar camp came to the spot after getting the information. They observed the footage of various CCTV cameras in the market area.
Apart from this, officials of Narsingdi District Police, Model Police Station, RAB-11, District Intelligence Detective Branch (DB), Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) reached the spot.
In this regard, Narsingdi district Commandant Tanzina Binte Ershad of Bangladesh Ansar said that four Ansar members were patrolling in front of the camp at around 2:30am.
At that time a group of 10-12 robbers, armed with weapons, attacked them from behind, she said.
Two of the Ansar members managed to run away from the spot, but the robbers tied the other two with ropes. They later snatched two shotguns and 10 bullets from them, she added.
