Winter clothes distributed in Kapasia

Under the initiative of Kapasia Upazila Administration of Gazipur, winter clothes were distributed among the poor and helpless people by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief at the Kapasia Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Wednesday. Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League and President of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Culture Simeen Hussain Rimi MP was the ChiefGuest. Under the chairmanship of Upazila District Officer AKM Golam Morshed Khan, Upazila Parishad Chairman Adv. Md Amanat Hossain Khan, Vice Chairman Asaduzzaman Asad, Female Vice Chairman Roshan Ara Sarkar, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mohammad Kohinur Rahman, Acting President of Upazila Awami League Advocate Mazharul Islam Salim, General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Pradhan etc. A total of 5 thousand 390 blankets will be distributed in the official distribution phase.

Integrated project to control noise pollution

The government has undertaken a project involving the general people to reduce noise pollution to a tolerable level, The Department of Environment (DoE) arranged a awareness workshop on Noise pollution to control ‘ at Gurudhayal Govt. College (GDG College) Auditorium on Thursday. G.D Govt.College Principal Professor Jamalur Rahman attended as chief guest, while Noise pollution control combined Project Manager Fazle Ellahi in the chair. The project involves collecting public opinion and implementing various awareness programmes. Principal Professor Jamalur Rahman said the BRTA registers about 300,000-400,000 new vehicles every year and noted that the increasing number of vehicles raises noise pollution by about 55%. Mentioning that excessive traffic noise disrupts people’s lives, Environment Department officials, Lawyers, Journalists, Teachers, religious leaders including CAB district president Alam Sarowar Tito were also present. Senior journalist and CAB in Kishoreganj president Alam Sarowar Alam said, We should build safe havens for the future generations.” TIB-Sanak Kishoreganj ‘s ex. president Professor Abdul Gani said that the project would help raise public awareness about noise pollution.
