20 thieves held in city with 664 mobile phones

The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-3) arrested at least 20 members of the mobile phone set thief gang from Sonargaon of Narayanganj, Moham-madpur, Pallabi and Jatrabari areas of the capital.
The arrested have been identified as Abdul Razzak (60), Hadid Iqbal (35), Masud (28), Rashed Dhali (31), Ibrahim (32), Arifur Hossain (19), Zakir Talukder (35), Jewel (30), Russell ( 29), Nazrul Islam (39), Billal Hossain (30), Ferdous Raihan Sagar (24), Sultan Khan (20), Sabbir (20), Aslam (50), Ujjal (25), Bachchu Dhali (32), Sujan (27), Safiqul Islam (35) and Zaheer (26). They were arrested in separate raids conducted on Monday (December 19) night.
At that time, 664 mobile phone sets, 306 mobile phone batteries and cash Tk 10270 were seized from them.
RAB-3 captain Lt. Colonel Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed said that the detained persons had been involved in buying and selling stolen and robbed mobile phones in various areas of the country including the capital for a long time. Legal action is pending against them.
