Slaughter houses identified

The War Crimes Facts Finding Committee has identified 116 places in Chattogram as slaughterhouses, 61 of which are in the metropolis. But most of them have been almost wiped out due to neglect.
Over the years, these slaughterhouses have been left unguarded and are becoming unoccupied.
There are 15 in Pahartali, 6 in Lalkhan Bazar, 5 in Halishahar, 5 in Gosaildanga, 4 in Andarkilla, 3 in Baklia, 2 in Rahmatganj, 2 in Kattali, 2 in Patenga, 2 in Port area, 2 in Katgarh, 2 in Muradpur, 2 in Nasirabad, 2 in Madarbari, 2 in Panchlaish and Chandanpura, One abattoir location each at Jaipahar, Chandgaon, Sholashar, Rampura.
During the war of liberation, more than 5,000 Bengalis were killed by being taken from the train and picked up from the surrounding areas in the slaughterhouse of Pahartali from March to December. Biharis killed 36 innocent people in Nathpara and Abdurpara slaughterhouses in Halishahar.
