Birth anniv of rational philosopher Araj Ali observed

On occasion of 122nd birth anniversary on anti-superstition, self-educated humanist, rational philosopher Araj Ali Matubbar, was held on Saturday (December 17) afternoon at the office of the Gano Natya Sangtha at Anami Lane of the city with discussion meeting and cultural programmes.
President of the organisation Barishal Gano Natya Sangstha Prof.Shah Azizur Rahman Khokon presided over and general secretary Professor Birendra Nath Roy spoke on the memory of Araj Ali Matubbar.
In the discussion meeting, member of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Revolutionary Communist League Professor Niprandra Nath Roy, CPB Barishal district former president Advocate AK Azad, District General Secretary Professor Dulal Majumder, writer Maqbul Akon, poet Touhidul Islam, former student leader Abul Kasem, Araj Ali Matubbar’s grandson Shamim Ali Matubbar and Farooq Mallick also attended and addressed the programme.
During the discussion in the speech, the speakers calling for researching on Araj Ali Matubbar, said we should keep the nation free by removing superstitions from the society.
If we all visit the works of Araj Ali Matubbar, many of us would be able to come out from the darkness and give that gift for creating an enlightened society, they told.
Prior to this, the leaders and activists of the organization paid homage to the portrait of the philosopher Araj Ali Matubbar.
