About 7 lakh seats will remain vacant in private schools in 2023 session

About seven lakh seats will remain vacant in private schools in 2023 session. There are about 9 lakh seats in the private schools across the country. But only two lakh candidates applied for the admission in 2023 session in private sector.
On the other hand, about seven lakh pupils have applied for one lakh seats in government school in 2023 session. About 5.8 students contested for each seat in government schools.
A lottery was arranged for admission in secondary (class one to nine) schools on Monday. Students will get their results by message and visiting websites.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni inaugurated the result publication ceremony at International Mother Language Institute on Tuesday.
Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) Professor Nehal Ahmed chaired the programme where others DSHE officials were present.
From 2021 session the government has been following lottery system for admission in secondary school.
