Labib wins Nat’l Digital Innovation Award

Mahir Ashab Labib, a student of Government Abdul Jabbar College of Borhanuddin Upazila, Bhola, has received the National Award for the second time for inventing an accident prevention device. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina MP presented the award as the chief guest at the inaugural and award ceremony of Digital Bangladesh Day 2022 organized at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in Dhaka on Monday.
Labib was awarded the Digital Bangladesh Award by the Directorate of Information and Communication as his device innovation was finally selected in the ‘Public-Private (Best Individual)’ category of the district level “Digital Bangladesh Award 2022”.
In this regard, Borhanuddin Upazila Executive Officer (Acting) Munni Islam said, little scientist Labib is a very talented student. He presents innovations on new topics at upazila level in all innovation fairs including science fairs and national technology weeks which will play a very important and effective role in the national field. UNO also said that Labib, a talented and young student, received the National Award from the Prime Minister on Monday.
Labib’s father A.H.M Mostafa Kamal is a lecturer at Government Abdul Jabbar College. Mother Yachmeen is a housewife. Labib’s father A.H.M Mostafa Kamal said his son Mahir Ashhab Labib’s innovative maritime accident prevention device was accepted by BIWTA as a pilot project. It is to be noted that earlier this young scientist got the honor of receiving the Digital Bangladesh Award-2021 as the best person in the private general category.
