Cyclone Mandous: Seaports hoist cautionary signal 2

As the deep depression over Southwest and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal intensified into a cyclonic storm Mandous, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department advised maritime ports to hoist distant warning signal No. 2.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay and deep sea have been advised to come close to the coast and not to venture into the deep sea.
The storm over the Southeast Bay and adjoining areas is likely to move West-Northwestwards and the cyclone centre sustained with wind speed within a 54 km radius rising up to 88 kph in gusts, the Met office said in a press release on Thursday.
As of 6:00am , cyclone centred was at about 1665 km southwest of Chattogram port, 1590 km of southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, and 1565km, 1550km southeast of Mongla and Payra port respectively.
Meanwhile, Indian Meteorological Department said, the cyclone is expected to make landfall during the late night hours on December 9 (Friday) and early morning hours of December 10 (Saturday) and issued an alert for North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh coasts.
