Bangladesh – India 2nd ODI today

Sports Reporter :
Motivated Bangladesh will take on India in their second One Day International (ODI) match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the city’s Mirpur today. The Day/Night affairs will start at 12.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite channel GTV and private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live.
Earlier, Bangladesh edged past India by one wicket in their first ODI at the same venue on December 4.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh faced India in 36 ODI matches. Of them, India won 30 matches, while Bangladesh recorded five victories and one match ended without a result.
Opener Najmul Hossain Shanto has been included in the squad. Though Shanto was out of form. But Shanto has been replaced opener of the team as dashing opener Tamim Iqbal was ruled out in the ODIs as he was injured.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Russell Domingo said, ” I like left-hand opener and right-hand opener combination. It seems to me that Shanto has understood the rhythm of white-ball cricket. He scored two half-centuries in the recently concluded ICC World Cup.”
Russell said, ” I have watched some world class batters. Jacques Kallis of South Africa had an average of 12 after playing his first 12 Test matches, But later, he cut a brilliant figure and became a master class batter. Shanto played in a tough condition in West Indies. He also played his 12 ODI matches in a hard condition. He has to get time to regain his form.”
Domingo said, ” I think Shakib will perform superbly after the ball become faded. Bangladesh played 12 ODI matches before World Cup. Yasir Ali hit a fifty against South Africa. I am also confident about the performance Mahmudullah Riyad. I have faith that Mahmudullah has capability to show notable display.”
Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed bowled in the net session at the SBNCS on Tuesday. But Domingo is not interested that Taskin will play as he thinks Taskin is not totally fit. Domingo wants that Taskin will play in the upcoming two-match Test series against India.
