Fox bite injures 5 people including mother, daughter in Kapasia

Five people, including a mother and daughter, were bitten by foxes in Kapasia Upazila. The incident took place on Friday afternoon in Namila village of Sinhashri union of the upazila. Sources added that a group of foxes suddenly came and bit the children on Friday afternoon while they were playing in the field next to Humayun’s house in Namila village of Simhasree Union. The children screamed as the four were bitten. At that time, a woman who was nearby came forward to save them from the attack of the fox and bit her too. When the people in the neighborhood got the news of the fox bite and went ahead, the foxes ran away. Khalek’s daughter Sumaiya (8), Falu’s wife Ayesha Begum (40) and Russell’s son Raihan (9), Fahim (12) and Shajahan’s son Rakib (10) of the same area were rescued by locals and taken to the doctor. Locals said that there is fear of foxes in the area in this incident. In this regard, local resident Masud Mehdi said that three people, including children, were injured by fox bites, and there is fear of foxes among the general public, including children.
