The 28-year-old Litton Das has been given the role of captain because of regular captain Tamim Iqbal was ruled out of the entire ODI series due to a groin injury. That’s why BCB opted for the vice-captain as the stand-in captain for the series.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Friday star wicket-keeper batter Litton Das as the captain of Bangladesh for the upcoming three-match ODI series at home which begins on Sunday (December 4).
The 28-year-old Litton has been given the role because of regular captain Tamim Iqbal was ruled out of the entire ODI series due to a groin injury. That’s why BCB opted for the vice-captain as the stand-in captain for the series.
Litton has been the most consistent batter for Bangladesh this year. He has played 57 ODIs till now and scored 1835 runs with 5 centuries and 7 half-centuries.
Bangladesh and India will take the field in the first ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on December 4. Then, after the second ODI on the same ground on December 7, the third and final ODI of the series will be held on December 10 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
