DU turns into a little gallery of FIFA World Cup

Nowadays if any one marches through Dhaka University(DU) campus, he/she will see many adorning combination for watching FIFA World Cup and cheering.
The dormitories of the university, walls and streets are decorated by students favorite teams’ flags and players graffiti.
Besides, Bangladesh Chhatra League set up three giant LED screens sponsored by Nagad at Hazi Muhammad Mohsin Hall’s playground and TSC area that have turned the campus an extended gallery of FIFA World Cup Qatar.
Most of the Bangladeshi football lovers usually revolves centering the football match of Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Spain or Portugal. Unbridled excitement participating a large people also seen when those teams play and sometimes supporters have brought out rally with musical instruments.
Moreover, some DU students expressed irritation for huge gathering and violation of learning environment in the campus as many outsiders come to the campus for large facilities to enjoy the match.

The students claimed that university’s duty is to create a peaceful learning environment not violating the ambiance.

“The university has been made an entertainment place or park for outsiders. Many outsiders with their vehicles have made the campus a paranormal place,” a student of Sir A F Rahman Hall, said.

“Students can enjoy but learning environment should be maintained. The university should look into the matters,” DU Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani said.
