Scholarship distributed at Ramgarh

‘Putul Smriti merit scholarship and prize distribution ceremony” was held by social organization Putul Foundation in Ramgarh of Khagrachhari on Saturday . Under the chairmanship of Motilal Debnath, the founder president of Putul Foundation in the upazila auditorium, Ramgarh Government College Associate Professor Mangsajai Marma spoke at the prize distribution ceremony. Mayor Md. Rafiqul Alam Kamal, Officer-in-Charge of Ramgarh Police Station Md. Mizanur Rahman, Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Patachhara UP Chairman Kazi Nurul Alam Alamgir, Secondary Education Officer Md. Abu Kawsar, Headmaster of Ramgarh Government High School Md. Abdul Quader.Welcome Speech Convener of Putul Smriti merit scholarship and prize distribution program was delivered by Education Officer Rameshwar Sheel and founder and co-chairman of Putul Foundation Dr. Nikhil Chandra Nath, distinguished physician Associate Prof. Nurul Anwar on behalf of the parents and Omar Farooq on behalf of the students delivered the keynote address. The program was moderated by journalist Md. Nizam Uddin Lavlu. At the end of the discussion meeting, the two students who won the first place in the combined merit list of Ramgarh Government High School and Girls High School, Omar Faruk and Israt Jahan Eva, were awarded a merit scholarship of Tk 10,000 respectively. Apart from this, 27 students who secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in 6th to 7th, 7th to 8th and 9th to 10th classes of Ramgarh Government High School, Girls High School and Chaudhuripara High School were given crests and books as prizes.

BARI holds project supervision programme

The Agricultural Statistics and Information & Communication Technology (ASICT) Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has arranged a 4-day project supervision program on the “Tailor-Made Training (TMT+) on Open-Source Scientific Computing for Agro-Geospatial Big Data Analysis” project on Sunday at the seminar room of the institute. A total of 26 trainees including scientists of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute and Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council, representatives of various universities, faculties form ITC, University of Twente, Netherlands are participating in the program. The supervision program is running from November 20-23. BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarker inaugurated the project supervision program as chief guest while Director (Training and Communication Wing) Dr. Ferdouse Islam presided over the inaugural ceremony. Prof Dr. Andy Nelson, ITC, University of Twente, Netherlands was present as the guest of honor. Chief Scientific Officer of ASICT Division Dr. Md. Abdul Monayem Miah gave the welcome speech. Principal Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) Dr. Md. Golam Mahboob presented the overall progress of this training course. Scientists and officers of BARI were present on the occasion.
