Bashundhara Kings’ winning start in Women’s Football League

Bashundhara Kings made a winning start in the Women’s Football League defeating Uttara Football Club by two goals to nil in their opening match at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur on Tuesday.
Captain of Bashundhara Kings and star footballer Sabina Khatun and the other star footballer Krishna Rani scored one goal each for Bashundhara Kings.
Sabina Khatun put her team ahead in the injury time of the first half.
After the lemon-break, Krishna Rani doubled the margin in the 77th minute of the match.
Meanwhile, Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan College Sporting Club blanked Siraj Smrity Sangsad by four goals to nil in the day’s other match at the same venue.
Aklima put her team ahead in the 18th minute of the play.
She increased the margin into 2-0 in the 29th minute of the game.
After the intermission, Nowshon Jahan made it 3-0 in the 68th minute of the clash.
Rupa sealed the fate of the match (4-0) just three minutes before the long whistle.
A total of 12 teams are taking part in this year’s Women’s Football League. The football meet is now being held in single league basis.
