Bangladesh’s International Symposium-2022 begins today

A two-day International symposium on the theme “Agricultural Transforma-tion: Role of Appropriate Scale Mechanisation and Postharvest Loss Reduction Innovations” began on Wednesday 2022 in a city hotel.
It was organised by Appropriate Scale Mechanization Innovation Hub (ASMIH)-Bangladesh and Post-harvest Loss Reduction Innovation Lab (PHLIL)-Bangladesh and The Department of Farm Power and Machinery, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab (SIIL) and Post-Harvest Loss Reduction Innovation Lab (PHLIL) based in the Kansas State University, USA , Appropriate Scale Mechanization Consortium (ASMC) and ADM Institute for the Prevention of Postharvest Loss based in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, and Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Bangladesh have partnered to host the event.
The inauguration of the symposium The Honorable Minister Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Dr. Dipu Moni, MP, was chief guest in the event while The Curator, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum and Former Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Md. Nazrul Islam Khan, , Director, Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Sustainable Intensification (SIIL), Kansas State University, USA , Dr. P. V. Vara Prasad, Director, Appropriate Scale Mechanisation Consortium (ASMC), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA Dr. Prasanta K. Kalita, Director, Feed the Future Innovation Lab for the Reduction of Post-Harvest Loss (PHLIL), Kansas State University, USA, Dr. Jagger Harvey were present as Special Guests and Bangladesh Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Lutful Hassan was present as chief patron of the programme, according to a press release.
