Female teacher hacked to death in Kushtia

A female teacher was hacked to death in her residence in Kushtia district town on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Roksana Khanam, 52, an Assistant Teacher of Kushtia Zila School.
Police recovered the body around 11:00 am on Monday.
She used to reside alone on the first floor of House No 285 at Housing State in Kushtia town.
 Her husband Mostafizur Rahman is an Accountant of LGED office of Jashore Chougachha.
Mohammad Jahirul Islam, Inspector (investigation) of Kushtia Sadar Police Station confirmed the matter to The New Nation, saying that our efforts are on to arrest the killers.
Roksana’s husband said, “We got married in 1997. However, we do not have any children. Even though we do not have any rifts or feud.”
He further said, “Roksana used to live in Kushtia and I live in Jashore for our jobs. She talked to me over mobile phone last night and said she would go to Jashore Education Board for the school works. I phoned her around 9:00 am, but she did not receive. Later, relatives found her dead lying in pool of blood on the bed.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) of Kushtia Police Station, said being informed police recovered the body. However, reasons behind the killing could not be known immediately.
