Parts of Dhaka, N’ganj, Munshiganj to face gas crisis from today

Amid the continuous gas crisis, the consumers in southern part of Dhaka city and adjoining areas, Narayanganj and Munshiganj may experience a week long disruption and low pressure in gas supply for from Sunday.
The gas supply crisis will prevail till November 12, a statement from the Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited said it on Saturday.
The Titas gas company said that the reason of the disruption is the technical work in the gas transmission line.
As per the Titas gas statement, consumers include some areas in the southern part of Dhaka city, Zinjira, Keraniganj, Meghnaghat, Sonargaon, Haripur, Narayanganj and Munshiganj, may face gas supply disruption.
The statement said that Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) will conduct ‘intelligent pigging’ activities in its 60km long Bakhrabad-Shiddhirganj 30-inch-diameter transmission line in the week.
Meanwhile, people from almost every area in the capital city have been facing gas crisis for long. The consumers said that the pressure of gas can be found for a very short period. They said it may be found in deep night but since the early morning the pressure could not be found in most of the areas in the capital.
Since early morning to evening the pressure of gas could not be found in most areas in the capital, the consumers accused.
