Jail killing Day observed

The Jail Killing Day was observed in Ishwardi with humble respect on Thursday. On the occasion flag hoisting, wreath laying and Doa Mahfil were organized by the initiative of Ishwardi Upazila Awami League.
After hoisting the national and party flags at the Awami League office in the morning, wreaths were placed on the portraits of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu and the four national leaders. President of Upazila Awami League and Upazila Chairman heroic freedom fighter Alhaj Naib Ali Biswas presided.
Upazila Awami League Vice-President Mohammad Rashidullah, Freedom Fighter Golam Mostafa Channa Mandal, Freedom Fighter Akram Hossain, Freedom Fighter Shahiduzzaman Nasim, General Secretary and Former Mayor Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, Municipal Awami League Acting President Abdul Khalek, General Secretary and Mayor Isaac Ali Malitha, Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Khan, Zilla Parishad Member Ratan Mahaldar, Farmers League convener Fazlur Rahman Malitha, Jubo League President Shirhan Sharif Tamal Chhatra League President Mallik Milan Md. Tanmoy along with a large number of leaders and workers of the party and affiliated organizations were present on the occasion. Office Secretary Azizur Rahman Chanchal moderated.
Kapasia (Gazipur) Correspondent adds: The Jail killing Day was celebrated with due dignity and solemnity at Kapasia Upazila the birthplace of the first Prime Minister of independent Bangladesh, Bangtaj Tajuddin Ahmed, on Thursday.
On this occasion, Upazila Administration, Awami League, social organizations and various educational institutions held mourning processions, discussion meetings, Milad and Doa Mahfil. In the morning, the programme of the day was officially opened at Kapasia Upazila Awami League Party Office.
On the initiative of the Upazila Administration, in the morning under the leadership of UNO AKM Golam Morshed Khan, Kapasia laid wreaths at the monument of Tajuddin Ahmed adjacent to Sadar Bus Terminal. Among others, Upazila Parishad Women Vice Chairman Roshan Ara Sarkar, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nazmul Hussain, brave freedom fighter Bajlur Rashid Mollah, Kapasia Police Station Officer In-Charge (OC) AFM Nasim, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Rasheduzzaman Mia, Project Implementation Officer Kohinur Rahman. , brave freedom fighter Abu Saeed, Professor Ain Uddin Ahmed and others. Apart from this, officials of various government departments of upazila administration were present.
Later Milad and Doa Mahfil were held to pray for the souls of the martyrs.
Apart from this, a discussion meeting and Milad Mahfil were held in the Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad Auditorium in the morning. UNO AKM Golam Morshed Khan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nazmul Hussain, Kapasia Police Station Officer-in-Charge AFM Nasim, freedom fighter Abu Saeed, Prof. Ain Uddin Ahmed and others spoke in the discussion meeting under the chairmanship of former commander freedom fighter Bazlur Rashid Mollah.
