Shooting of Mosharraf Karim starrer crime thriller gangster movie ‘Hubba’ completed

The shooting of Mosharraf Karim starrer movie titled ‘Hubba,’ directed by Bratya Basu, has been completed recently. Mosharraf Karim played the title role in ‘Hubba’ aka ‘Daud Ibrahim of Hooghly’ in the movie. This was confirmed by the actor yesterday.
Earlier, Mosharraf Karim also acted in Bratya Basu’s previous feature film titled ‘Dictionary,’ which won the Best International Film Award at the 4th Nepal International Film Festival.
He will be appearing in the director’s forthcoming movie along with Indraneil Sengupta, Nusrat Jahan, Phalguni Chatterjee and Poluami Basu.
According to the director Bratya Basu, ‘Hubba’ will be a ‘political’ project and will be about a gangster, who was active in Hoogly from the 1990s. It would focus on the politics-underworld nexus of Kolkata in the era of globalisation.
He informed that ‘Hubba Shyamal’ was called the ‘Dawood Ibrahim of Hooghly’ district because of this dangerous nature. ‘Hubba’ was the sole authority in the criminal underworld of Hooghly district. At least, 30 lawsuits were filed against him including cases for murder, kidnapping, and drug trafficking. Despite multiple arrests he was granted bail. After ‘Hubba Shyamal’ went missing in 2011, his decomposed body was discovered floating in the Bidyabati canal. The movie ‘Hubba’ is expected to be released in 2023, the director also said.
