BD take on Zimbabwe in crucial T20 WC match tomorrow

Bangladesh will take on Zimbabwe in their crucial Group-2 match of the ‘Super Twelve’ phase of the ICC T20 World Cup (WC) at The Gabba in Brisbane of Australia tomorrow. The match will begin at 9.00am (Bangladesh Standard Time). State-owned television channel BTV, private satellite sports channel T Sports, private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe faced each other in 19 Twenty20 International matches. Of them, Bangladesh registered 12 victories, while Zimbabwe won in seven games.
Bangladesh T20 Cricket team reached Brisbane on Friday from Sydney. Bangladesh, hosts New Zealand and Pakistan took part in a tri-nation Twenty20 International (T20I) series recently. Then Bangladesh T20 Cricket team went to Brisbane to play two warm-up matches of the ICC T20 World Cup. Bangladesh played against Afghanistan in the first warm-up match at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on October 17 and lost to Afghanistan. The second warm-up match between Bangladesh and South Africa at the same venue was washed out by heavy rain on October 19.
But Bangladesh never ever played at The Gabba in Bribane.
It may be mentioned that Zimbabwe beat their stronger opponents Pakistan by one run in their Group-2 match of the ‘Super 12’ phase on Thursday last. Besides, the first Group-2 match between South Africa and Zimbabwe was abandoned due to heavy rain, So, Zimbabwe are now in a better position than Bangladesh.
It is noteworthy that the ICC ODI World Cup match between Bangladesh and Australia in 2015 was abandoned due to heavy rain at the Gabba. Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar and Taskin Ahmed were included in Bangladesh ODI squad.
