Payra port’s first terminal opens Oct 27

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the much-awaited first terminal of Payra port in Patuakhali on October 27.
The premier, joining virtually from her official residence Gono Bhaban, will also lay the foundation stone of a six-lane connecting road with the port and a bridge there, according to a press release.
The information was announced at a preparatory meeting chaired by State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury at the conference centre of the port on Monday on the occasion of inauguration of the development works. The prime minister is also expected to inaugurate the capital dredging work of the port and eight new ships on the same day.
Parliament Member (Patuakhali-4) Muhibur Rahman Muhib and Payra Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail were present at the meeting.
