Babita gets emotional to reminiscence memories of movie ‘Pension’

Legendary film actress Farida Akhtar Babita acted in talented cinematographer and film director Rafiqul Bari Chowdhury directed movie ‘Pension.’ Besides Bobita, Anwar Hossain, Rawshan Jamil, Sohel Rana, Amir Hossain Babu, Shuja Khondokar, among others acted in various roles in this movie. ‘Pension’ was released on November 30 in 1984.
To reminiscence memories of this movie after releasing of 38 years, Bobita got emotional.
Right now Babita is staying in Canada with her only son, Anik. Few days ago, she went to the USA to meet her brother. After passing few days in USA, she returned to Canada recently. Talking with this correspondent on Monday about present condition of Bangladeshi movies, this legendary actress suddenly presented memories of her acted movie ‘Pension.’ According to her, Babita acted in this movie alongside legendary actor late Anwar Hossain, another legendary actress late Rawshan Jamil and noted film actor Sohel Rana.
While sharing her feelings regarding reminiscence memories of acting in ‘Pension’ movie, Babita told this correspondent, “Basically story of this movie revolves with various complications which take place after getting father’s pension. Rafiqul Bari Bhai was a talented cinematographer and film director. Under his direction, I acted in this movie. If I am not wrong, this movie won the National Film Award. However, today I am recalling memories of past days specially memories of shooting days of movie ‘Pension.’ I can remember my working experiences with Anwar Bhai, Rawshan Jamil Apa, Suja Khondokar Bhai, among others. Life of human being finishes so quickly which I can realise to remember those days. Today Anu Bhai, Rawshan Apa, Suja Bhai, even Babu Bhai are not alive. Parvez also acted in this movie. But he is far away from acting now. I am not working in the silver screen for many years. Everything became how come. When I think it I become really emotional. I passed very nice days. Life of our artistes passed under a disciplined way. We had a good relationship with each other from our souls. Many of us are not alive today. Who are alive they do not work now. They are passing days at home only. Life is really mysterious. However, I remain well, Alhamdulillah with Allah’s blessings.”
Babita informed that she will return to Bangladesh at the end of November. Babita last acted in Nargis Akhter’s movie ‘Putro Ekhon Paisawala.’
It is noted that movie ‘Pension’ is reserved in the archive of Laser Vision now.
