RAB arrest 3 persons along with 1465 bottles of Phensidyl

The elite force RAB-3 arrested three drug dealers including the mastermind of the smuggling ring while smuggling 1465 bottles of phensedyl in a covered van.
According to RAB, the gang used to collect consignments of Phensedyl from the border areas of Comilla district and send it to different parts of the country including the capital, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Tongi and Savar.
In the past three years, the organized cycle sent more than 50 consignments to different parts of the country and looted crores of taka.
On Saturday, the accused were arrested from the port area of Narayanganj district. A covered van and a jeep used to transport drugs were also seized from the procession.
Commander of RAB-3 Lt. Col. Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed gave this information in a press conference organized at Kawran Bazar media center in the capital on Sunday noon.
RAB official said that Ali Akbar (35), the ringmaster of the drug trafficking gang, and his accomplices Ripon Mia (27) and Nur Hossain (35) were arrested. The market value of recovered drugs is around Tk 29 lakh.
According to the statement given by the accused, RAB said that Jeep owner Ali Akbar is the mastermind of this gang. He owns a lot of money in a short time. He used to regularly carry consignments of drugs in his jeep.
According to the captain of RAB-3, despite having his own jeep, Ali Akbar used to transport drugs by renting covered vans, trucks and pickups at various times for greater security.
Two days before the incident, Ali Akbar and his driver Ripon Mia went to Comilla in order to transport Phensedyl. It was supposed to be transported from Comilla to Narayanganj by covered van.
Arif Mohiuddin said that the gang lured lorry drivers and assistants with huge sums of money to transport Phensedyl in their vehicles. The RAB official said that the owner of the arrested jeep, Ali Akbar, procured Phensedyl from a syndicate of Swagazi Bazar in Comilla.
After collecting Phensedyl, sometimes Ali Akbar himself and sometimes under his guidance Nur Hossain delivered the consignments to different parts of the country. For the past 3 years, the cycle has delivered more than 50 consignments to different parts of the country and looted crores of TK.
Each shipment contained 500 to 1500 Phensedyl. Along with Phensedyl, the gang also delivered several consignments of hemp and yaba to different parts of the country at different times.
But fortunately the members of this gang were not arrested by law enforcement earlier.
RAB’s operation against other members of the gang will be continued, said the RAB official.
