Mustard seeds among 300 farmers distributed in Companiganj

Mustard seeds worth Tk 1 lakh were distributed among 300 farmers on behalf of Companiganj Upazila on farmers’ meeting at Companiganj Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Thursday. Md Mojibor Rahman, DC, Sylhet distributed the seeds. Companiganj UNO Lusikant Hajong presided over this programme.
Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Directorate, Sylhet Khair Uddin Molla, Upazila Parishad Chairman Shamim Ahmad and other officials and political leaders also present were this programme.
Chief guest DC of Sylhet Md Mojibor Rahman said that the government is always with the farmers to increase production and will provide all kinds of assistance.
He called upon all to cultivate all the fallow lands without leaving any land vacant as per the directives of the Prime Minister.
Md Mojibor Rahman also requested the farmers to come forward in the production of other national crops including pulses as well as paddy.
He also directed to give incentives of one lakh taka to farmers from all upazila parishads under the initiative of district administration besides government agricultural assistance.
